The Map Office
I had seen some work from Eddie Opara recently but I didn’t realise he was a partner in the New York and Boston based design studio The Map Office.

Typographically driven work from french Art Director Xavier Encinas. He also runs the graphic design and typography blog SwissLegacy.
I know this post won’t be following with the whole sweet graphics trend but I just saw the posters for G.I.Joe. Now I was a massive G.I.Joe fan when I was younger, so I thought I would share them with the world along with BLT the company who designed them and almost every other movie poster around. So here’s some crazy epic crap. Also check out some of these other movie resources – IMP Awards, All City Media, Font Feed and Smashing Magazine.
Check out L2M3, their signage systems actually makes me feel sick they’re so good. I hate sharing by the way! haha!
Well it’s nearly a year since we’ve left college and soon other graduates will be joining us in the real world. One book that I felt helped the transition (after 6 months unemployment of course) was How to be a graphic designer without losing your soul. Another book I’ve been meaning to order to help with this process is Never Sleep. Written by design duo Andre Andreev & G. Dan from Dress Code, it details every aspect of their journey from college to the workplace.
Some great diagrammatic work examples here. There’s a blog devoted entirely to the subject here. If you’re finding it difficult getting your head around handling cash in these recessionary times then maybe these graphics can help.
Advice to sink in slowly is an ongoing series of posters designed by graduates for the purpose of passing on advice and inspiration to first year students. More on Flickr
Ok so we’ve been posting a lot of cool crap but I thought I’d just make us feel a little bad about ourselves with this small Herb Lubalin resource. Check it.
The THE MUSEUM FÜR GESTALTUNG ZÜRICH have an amazing back catalogue of books and posters from previous exhibitions in their online shop. The likes of Norm, Elektrosmog, Werner Jeker & Müller+Hess have designed collateral for the museum in the past.
In the same vain as Neubau Welt the fantastic Official Classic have a huge resources of vectors on hand.
